Mend Hotpoint WM31 Aquarius Blows

MY hotpoint aquarius 1200 wm31 starts then blows my electricty?

i put my hotpoint on a 60 deegrees wash for the first time, when i arrived home all my electricty had blown, i waited a full day for machine to cool, on starting again it did 10 mins of wash then blown my electricity, same happens on any new spin or setting. please i hope there is some help out there as i have no money and no clean clothes, cheers in advance

My Aquarius 1200 recently started knocking the trip switch. It would take in the water and after a few minutes the trip would go. Got it looked at and was told it was the timer. Even though the repair man said the machine was otherwise immaculate and the brushes were only 1/3 worn (which is seemingly good) he said it would cost too much to repair.

UPDATE,
discounted my motor an tried a rinse, this doesnt blow my electricity so it seems its the motor, anyone have any ideas how much 1200 motor will cost me?
