Volvo V70 Wipers on full time?

Hi
I have an R plate Volvo V70.
The windscreen wipers will not switch off. The screen washer is on full time till it empties the water but pump continues to work causing wipers to keep sweeping.
Only way to stop at moment is take the fuse out.
Does this sound like a relay stuck open? If so which one is it? Any help gratefully received

Hello,

From what you describe it could well be a faulty contact/microswitch on the wiper stalk. You could try operating the wash wipe action a few times to see if it will release or give the contacts/microswitch a spray of WD40. Hope this is of some help. Regards HarryTomo
