Mend Toyota 8900 Sewing Machine Repair Needle

Shuttle carrier moving and jamming Toyota 8900 sewing machine?

If my wife winds the machine backwards by hand to raise the needle, the shuttle carrier moves, gets wedged and jams the machine. Do you think the shuttle carrier is worn? If so, can you still purchase the part for this machine bought in Singapore 1985?

No reason why you cannot get any parts, you should not move the balance wheel backwards at any time to raise the needle, always towards you.
