Problem wilth a 66-1 singer treadle?

I am having a very hard time with my 66-1. The needle thread seems to be catching and causing it to break. I just took it in not 3 days ago and had the timeing fixed, but i can't get it to sew more than 3-4 stitches in a row. Even if i turn the hand wheel it will skip stitches and form an odd loop then break the thread. The loop looks to be formed when the needle goes down, the bobbin thread catches the needle thread but when the needle comes back up the thread from the needle is looped under the fabric and the previous stitch is pulled up. SO i end up with 3 threads ontop of the fabric. I dont know what is causing it and it is very irritating as i just paid $80 to have it repaired. IF anyone can help me figure out why this machine is not stitching correctly PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me. Thank you in advance! Stephanie

My machine is skipping some stitches, I've tried adjusting the tension, and length of stitches. It was stitching perfect until I found a ball of thread fabric or who knows inside the little spring under the bobbin. I don't know how many years it has been sitting? She has been mistreated had to replace whole tension it was rusted bad. She was made in 1908. I want to get her usable to sew on, not just to look at!!! When I brought her home the pressure lever was not working and loose and not raising the foot. She need oiling and a good cleaning out of all the dust bunnies big time!! My better half decided that it was better to remove the part just left of the bobbin case to try to remove the dogs so not to mess up the spring any more that it already was. Bad idea now it isn't stitching perfect when I first threaded her. Help!

Hello Stephanie,
Very unusual if you have the black 66 going out of time but that is what it sounds like unless you have the needle in the wrong way round, if you e-mail me I will attach timing instructions, very easy on that machine.
