i have had a problem with my toilet refilling since i fitted it 2 years ago it can take hours to refill i'm sure i fitted the parts correctly, water just seems to dribble out of the top every now and again. It's a small cistern with a duel button. Anyone with any idea to how i can solve it. Thank's.

Your problem may be with the intake water valve. This is the mechanism that actually regulates the flow of water in the tank or cistern. There are serviceable parts that you can purchase from most most plumbing supplies stores that comes as a kit which should include rubber/plastic washers, small filter and some other parts depending on brand name of your system in your tank.

Sorry - not an answer. I actually have the same problem and am looking for the solution - mine is an Ideal Standard dual flush. I have worked out how to get the lid off (thanks Google!) but now that I have the rate of flow is the next mystery to solve.

A couple of thing you could check.

1) Can the float move up and down freely.

2) When tank is empty the float should be at the lowest point and water should be getting into the tank.

3) Press the float down and see how much water is getting into the tank.

4) If very little water is getting into the tank. You should allow more water into the system from the external source.

5) You may have to open the nozzle of the inlet. Some particles may be obstructing it.

Hope that helps!
