Toilet Push Button not flushing properly?

I have a push button air line with green and clear tubes. The toilet will flush when the chrome buttons are removed and I'm pushing the white plastic stick the buttons clips on to however with buttons in place it just releases a small amount of water and doesn't fully flush. I bought a new button set for £28 and the part number was GROHE 42204P10 but no change
