Ideal Standard 2 button c/c cistern lid jammed?

My w.c. lid & button assy has jammed on & I need to remove it as either the diaphragm or the inlet valve are failing. After flushing it refills as normal but continues to flush slowly into the pan for several minutes after the main action has completed itself. To prevent this I have to switch the water off at an inline flexi-pipe with a nylon twist stop on it.

The lid only lifts 1/2" or so & the surround for the button assy only lifts 1/4" or turns 30' I've no wish to smash the cistern top, but how else can I sort it ?

You will find that if you push one of the buttons down and lever the other up with a screw driver, it will pop out of the housing. You then pop the other out by pushing it up and this will reveal a plastic screw head. Undo the screw and lift up the cistern lid complete once the scerw is unscrewed. Thus revealing your cistern workings. You'll find that the leaking is due to the diaphram in the cistern needing replacement.

If it is anew house or recently fitted bathroom contact the installers.

Some of the muppets are siliconing(On purpose or by mistake!) the screw cap holding the push button flush which is totally incorrect.

Try unscrewing the cap around the push button flush or
