wait one hour?

My car battery went flat whilst not in use. I have now replaced the battery but the radio asked for a security code. I put the wrong code in by mistake but instead of getting another chance to input, the radio just said wait one hour. I have the correct code and have waited an hour with the engine running but the 'wait' instruction remains. How do I now input the correct code as the radio won't do anything?
