Mend Kenmore 385.12102 Machine Top Thread

Kenmore Sewing Machine 385.12102 is not feeding stitiches?

The top portion of the thread runs, but the bottom portion does not catch. I have opened the bottom part to check if all the parts there are moving and they do. Only there are no stitches because the bottom portion does not seem to catch the upper portion of the thread cycle. My machine is as new and hardly used. Please help!
