My laptop freezes and i wont do anything, what shall i do?

Hi..My compaq laptop shuts itself down, i have tried ctrl,alt,delete and pressing escape. I wont do anything and all that you can see or get it to do is a blank screen.Its driving me mad! Help!

This could be caused by many things,

Check in task manger that the cpu is not maxing at 100%.

Check that your laptop isnt running hot, cpu/psu fans sometimes get clogged with dust.

Run a virus checker.

Check your memory usage through task manager as you may have faulty memory or something using allyour memory.

well Basicly if you have too much stuff on your laptop it just wont have any of it and it will be extreamly slow and eventuly it shuts down if this isnt the case then it could well be a virus thats hard to find all you should do is buy a new usp 2gb hard drive that just plugs in to a usb
