Just had a XL2 auto given to me without the chain. I have cleaned it & fired her up. went to the local hardware store all they carry is oregon chains he said the s49 would work, but it does not. what next?

I am converting the sproket on my saw to the 3/8" pitch, I had trouble finding the old 1/4" pitch. I was able to find a new OEM 12 inch bar on ebay for about $25 with the newer 3/8" pitch chain. Now I just need the new sprocket...
