cyberhome dvr 1600?

dosen't display and wont come on, makes a wierd squeek when i plug it in?

HELLO PHILIP

This sounds very much like the power supply has failed. The PSU in these units are not the best and I have seen many with bulging capacitors.

My advice: get a better machine!
