ok... this is not an easy one to answer... it may be the case that the hole is too big to repair... if it is anything smaller than a 2p piece you should be ableto get away with it.....
tools you will need: 4" angle grinder, fibre glass (P40 car stuff is good for this) filler paste (P38 car stuff), rough (P60 or P80) glass paper, wet and dry paper (various from P100 to P240). masking tape 2" wide

1) take the angle grinder and rough the bath side of the hole until there is a bevel edge all around.

2) remove bath panel and ensure the hole is clean and dry inside and out

3) stick masking tape over outside of hole

4) mix P40 fibre glass paste and apply to inside of hole in bath ensure that the filler is not proud of the surrounding surface

5) when P40 has set, take rough glass paper and smooth the P40 filler so that it feels smoothish to touch and again ensuring that the repair is lower than the surface of the bath.

6) mix P38 filler and apply in layers with a rub down in between until the repair is flush with its surroundings.

7) remove masking tape from outside of bath repair

8) mix more P40 and apply liberally to the immediate area on the utside of the bath where you have repaired inside. ensur ethat you cover the repair AND 6" all around the repair. this should be more than 5 mm thick......

9) wait at least a few hours until the repair feels cold to the touch (at least the same temperature as the surrounding area then fill the bath with COLD water and leave for 6 hours.

10) after this time, drain the bath then fill with HOT water straight from the tank (no cold) and again leave for several hours.

11) if at any time through this process, a leak occurs, drain the bath, dry the repair and add more P40 to the UNDERSIDE of the repair.

12) show off to your wife at how resourceful you can be when you really want to.....
