When my 1991 volvo 940 auto estate (non turbo) (RHD) has done a few miles on a journey a high pitch squeel (noise) comes from the front right hand side of the engine I have changed both drive belts..
Bill Check your front crankshaft pulley.That one has a rubber donut betweeen metal rings.They can break loose and start to slip.It is easily checked by applying a timing light to the front engine pulley and watch to see if you see the marks rotating around and around.
