Sometimes it chimes the number of hours at the half hour, and strikes the single half hour chime on the hour ie. 7 o' clock. I re set it using a lever behind the clock face, and it works for a couple of days...but then reverts back. How should i re set it correctly please?
if it strikes the hrs on the half hours ,remove the knurled nut that holds the hr hand on ,remove the hr finger, reinstall the hr finger back on at the o clock position. ie (turn the finger through 180 degrees)
Note
the square boss in the middle of the hr finger may have become loose its only a friction fit.
