My wharfedale DAB Radio (NE-3120) has broken!! I unplugged it and used the lead to play a portable CD player. When I plugged the radio back in all that happens is that it lights up, makes a loud buzzing noise but there is nothing showing in the display and none of the buttons work

How do you replace a capacitor without breaking the whole thing?

I had exactly the same problem. Replacing C502 brought it back to life. The value is 25V 2200uF radial electrolytic available from Farnell/RS Components.
