its not picking up the thread from bobbin and sews backwards?

Hello,

yesterday i bought a quigg nm 800 sewing machine on ebay but when i tried it at home. its not stiching. its not taking up the thread from bobbin and sometimes it does but its not a stich. rather very loose stitch from the bottom. also its only stiching zig zag and backwards. i dont have the instruction manual. i tried to find on the net but found something else. it was also for a free arm sewing machine. i followed few instructions but it didnt help.
please somebody help me out either with an instruction manual if someone has or with an advice.

* the machine looks very similar to fif 900, if someone has instruction manual that also works
