Schreiber APP6403 warning light and beeping sound?

Since the last defrosting our freezer starts beeping and a flashing red light around once a day.
Any suggestions?

The capacitor that drops the mains voltage from 230VAC to 25VAC has dried out and is no longer regulating to 25VAC it is a lot lower.. thus there is not enough voltage to operate the relay. This is why tapping the relay or slamming the fridge door makes it suddenly work. it will only work till such time as the temperature is low when it switches off , when the temp rises again you are back in the slamming door phase.
The part you need is about 59p ... 33uF capacitor. If you are no good at soldering or general elastic trickery , then you can but the board from ukwhitegoods.co.uk for £50 the part number on their site is 546039402

holding the fast freeze button , over rides the thermostat and makes the appliance run -hence freeze colder . this is not a cure ! if fast freeze is left on this can cause damage and or the compressor over heats and then cuts out causing the appliance to defrost.
the probable fault is either the sensing probe (which is now unobtainable) or the main pcb which is approx
100.00 pounds.

Mine has done the same thing for about 6 months - the trick is to press and hold the top left button (quick freeze) until it stops its incessant beeping. Then give the door a good slam and that should start the motor running again to re-freeze. Be warned, the reason I'm online is to buy a new one, it has totally given up the ghost now! Maybe you'll get another 6 months out of yours, though ;) Good luck!
