hi, theres no strips of metal in fuse box, all plastic

Possibly a fusible link, check out the links inside the fuse box, they look like strips of metal with nuts/bolts at the ends of them, if you have a multi-meter, set it to measure resistance, put the black lead to any metal point on the car and the red lead to one of the links, resistance should be almost infinite, if not you have a broken link, hence could be your problem
