My ghd straighteners will turn on but they will not heat up. The red light flashes and they will just not heat up! I got them as a Christmas present. Please help, and fast!!!
Open the ghd arm up (non switch side) and use a screwdriver to turn the VR1 resistor clockwise by a 1/4 turn or less! Sorted

There are unfortunately MANY fake GHDs out there. firstly check the hologram code with GHD website or number on the plug lead...is it a genuine set? If not...try to get your money back if your gift has a receipt. One other way to tell if fake is to look at wee booklet...are there any silly spelling errors or do words 'run' togetherlike this? Best to try to take back to store...if they are not e-Bay fakes. Good luck!
