I continue to get the 163 error message for my IBM Thinkpad 600E even after I correct the date and time. the system will not allow me to move beyond this. i tried holding the F1 key while turning on - didn't get beyond error. also removed battery and put back in - didn't get beyond error. HELP!
The CMOS backup battery has gone bad. Download the Hardware Maintenance Manual for the TP600 from www.lenovo.com and follow the instruction on how to replace it.
