My shower doe not provide enough pressure at the shower head. Why?

I have a Monarch thermostaic shower purchased early 2009. Only just installed bit I cannot get enough pressure at the shower head. Pressure at the incoming pipes to the mixing valve is very good. Can someone help please also what is the significance of the water temperature being at 60 degrees? My hot water is rarely as high as that.
