how do i repair the power switch on my kirby g5b?

was working fine,tried to turn it on one day and it would not power up.When I pushed the power button it would not click but the light would come on for a split second at first.Now I get nothing at all.Please answer fast,if you could see my home you would know this could be classified as an emergency.
