Bissell 8975 Bagless?

How can I get the top filter out to clean it. I just got one at a yard sale. It was so dirty the dirt was caked in the filters. I got the little bucket out and the filter below it, but can find a way to take the t op one out. I got the cone and ring filter out bu that top one is a puzzle.

there is a plastic turn screw on the back of the machine....it should pop the whoe assembly out onto your hands if you line it up properly. and pull.
