Mend Maytag MSD2957DE Side Controls Heater

How do I troubleshoot the defroster on my Maytag side by side?

What controls the defrost heater below the cooling coils on my Maytag MSD2957DE frig? The coils keep icing up. No leaks around the door seal. I assume the heater or defrost timing mechanism isn't working. Can anyone give me some advice on how to repair, please?

Hello,

Your fridge defrost system is controlled by a ADC board which puts the fridge into the defrost mode. There should be a tech sheet inside the control panel to put the fridge into the defrost mode. If the heater works after the test you probably need a new board. The ADC board takes place of the defrost timer. Hope this helps.
