hi, i have a rover 45 turbo deisel 2.0 and the heater/ ventilation blower switch only works on position 3 & 4. Position 1 & 2 are defunct and the blower does not actuate. I have tested the blower switch and it is mechanically sound and the circuitry is fine. is this a relay of fuse problem? Unable to find diagnostic? please help.
common fault on most rovers as previously detailed. I've had several Rovers & all have had this resistor fault. You can save yourself some money if you're handy with a soldering iron - buy a repair kit on ebay - easy fix.

You need to replace the heater resistor. It is located behind the passenger glove box inside the heater blower duct. Remove glove box for better access 2 bolts at the bottom. You will see a plastic plate with a wiring multi plug on remove plug. there is 1 or 2 screws holding the resistor in it looks like coil springs once removed these will be broken. Hope this helps.
