I cannot open the door from the outside in a 96 astra?
My problem is in the passenger door
It opens no problem from the inside but will not open from the outside
Is there anywhere i could get details on how this mechanism works
I have tried the vauxall and opel sites?
Most likely the rod that goes to the handle has fell out
will need to pull door panel and see whats happning when the outside handle is being pulled and you`ll see what the problem is ..hopefully the rod has just come loose and you can reinstall

I had the same problem, try looking for a small black switch on the side of the door. When you do find it, try pushing up or down depending where it's already set on. The purpose is a safty hassard for children pulling the door open while the car in motion.
