central locking not fuctioning correctly?

Rover 200 series, the rear window heater stopped work and we found that this was due to a break in the circuit on the rear window, so I repaired that and replaced the fuse as the orginal has blown, but when I put the fuse back in the rear window heater button now works but for some reason when I press it the car doors look and when I press it again the doors unlock,but my remote doesn't function now for some reason, could you please let me know how I can fix this, before I put the fuse in everything bar the rear window heater was working
