why won't my 1996 murray riding lawn mower go in reverse?
i have a 1996 murray 17.5 hp auto. drive riding lawn mower. it goes fine in forward, but won't go in reverse. how can i fix it? i can't see the model # it has a 17.5 original briggs & stratton engine.= & a tecumeseh transmission. i have checked the linkage & oiled everything.
if all forward gears are working the chain inside the transaxle is probably broken, means the transmission has to be removed from the mower then remove the bolts in its top you can leave the pully on, when this is removed you can buy a repair chain link and put everything back together
