Pull cord?

I replaced the double pole pull cord for my shower about 5 months ago, the shower worked perfectly yesterday but when i went to use it this morning....nothing. the neon indicator was blank, the MCB was in the on position but no power to the shower even thought the pull switch was in the on position...any ideas?
