Eureka "boss" #5893 stops sucking after 10mins?

My eureka "boss" model #5893 vacuum stops sucking after about 10 minutes. Then it spits out all of the dirt it had just sucked up. Any idea how to fix this? I don't have the owner's manual as this vacuum was given to me. It worked for awhile then it started doing this.
