Mend GBC Ultima 65 Turned Minutes Suddenly

GBC Ultima 65 power issue?

We have GBC Ultima 65 laminator. Recently when it is turned on, it will heat up for about 5 minutes and then suddenly shut off. I try pushing the reset button below the back, and it turns back on only to turn off again after 5 minutes. Is this a faulty fuse? Any suggestion to fix? We are a school and may not have the funds to fix. Called for repair, but they are charging $300 just to come out!! anyone know an independent service place near Chicago?

The circuit breaker is going bad. You can order one from a variety of sources:) I service these machines for a living in the pittsburgh area as a indenpendent service company. These machines rarely if ever trip the breaker for a legit reason. Nearly every failure is a bad breaker. GBCs service rates of $317 for the first hour within 25 miles of pittsburgh are unreal.

You can order the breaker from mouser or digi key for under 10 bucks or uy one from GBC for near 40 bucks. If you have trouble finding one call me 412 366 4906 its important to replace the 2 wires and connectors when replacing the breaker it just snaps into place. very easy to change....
