How to fix Dakota Mantel Chiming?

Dakota Manel Quartz AA batteries are new: but clock won't chime correctly after about 24 hours. Is auto set no not chime between 11pm and 6am but does and chimes incorrect #s... like at midnite chimes 11 times. this varies? have replaced batteries 2x in a month, thinking bad batteries..but that's not the problem.
