The machine is looking for a rise in water level. It knows the inlet valve is open but does not sense a water level increase the machine will fault. 2 possible causes the level sensor hose has become dislodged from the control board. Next option could be a blocked air chamber. If you have noticed that the machine has not been spinning as well and the washing smells of detergent this could be the fault.
