2003 nissan micra oil light?

our nissan micra which is a 2003 1.2 se. the oil light stays on and the engine rattles it has plenty of oil. we stopped the engine the moment it came on, can you replace the oil pump if thats what it is these or has anyone else had this problem with there micra.
