Mazda 3 1.6TS loses power?

My mazda 3 1.6 TS diesel cruises along well, but then without warning, loses power, and engine cuts out. However, once I turn ignition on again, it runs well again, until the next time, probably once every few weeks.
Seems like it could be fuel related ... fuel starvation, blockage???
Or, maybe something else..........

Cheers for that pal, I`ve just been and bought one, and having it fit tomorrow. Seems thats the first thing to try, and hopefully that will be the cure.
