How to Remove a Stuck CD from a Car CD Player

If you can power on the unit, and press the eject button still, then this how-to should work for most standard in-dash units. (There is also a tiny black button behind most face-plates on aftermarket stereos that you can press with the end of an opened-out paper clip, should your eject button not work.)
Steps

1. Take a blank/useless CD and place it about 1 inch deep into the slot.
2. Press the 'Eject' button and gently wiggle the CD around. If this doesn't work, repeat and try to get either the blank CD below the the jammed CD, and gently pry the target CD upwards.
3. Sometimes, unusual amounts of pressure may be on the unit, behind the dash itself. Have a professional or a friend that you trust remove the dash unit and try steps #2 and #3.

Tips

* The clear plastic CD that tops off most CD bundles of 25 or more is a great tool to keep if this is a persistent problem.
