How to repair my pressure washer?

I have a model 4000G Karcher (5.5 HP, 1800 PSI) pressure washer. With engine running at full speed and water hose attached, I usually turn the nozzle to increase spray; however, I get no increased spray. What causes this and how can I repair this?
