how can i fix my singer 319 k ?

hi, i ve just acquired a singer 319k model which I love .. when I got it, it already had a normal universal needle in it and I tried working with ,it worked fine until I did some adjustment with the width control and then the timing got all wrong and the needle started hitting the bobbin case ...so I m guessing its the timing that need adjusting ...can anyone provide any solution..tanks

You cannot use a normal sewing machine needle in that model, you must use a style 206x13 needle it is made for models 306,319,320, hopefully you have not knocked that model out of time because they are murder to retime
