some pumps are driven by a worm drive,, which are known to fail.It may be hidden behind the clutch.
usually a black circular disc, check that the gearing is not worn.

take off the chain and bar and make sure the guide is clean, there are 2 small holes that allow the oil to get to the chain, make sure these are clear of any debris.

I agree with on of the the previous posters. Cooking oil? Utter rubbish! You MUST use proper chain oil. I use Stihl chain oil.

BTW chain oils too thick? Why on earth would companies like Stihl with multimillion dollar research and development budgets sell the wrong stuff for their tools. It just doesn't make any sense at all.

take the cover off the chain (with the saw OFF) there is a little outlet port for the oil , it might be blocked with sawdust. the problem with chainsaw oil is its too thick. i work with chainsaw in the parks cutting down trees, we use cooking oil, as its very fine, and works well,to cool down the chain, clean the outlet port with a pin,, ect, try cooking oil , see how you get on,
