(1)-- Press the MENU key on the remote control so that the Setup menu appears.
(2)-- Using the UP/DOWN arrows on the remote control, select Captions/Text on your screen.
(3)--Press a Right/Left arrow to choose any of the following options: OFF, Captions 1 etc,etc,
(4)-- Press ENTER to return to tv viewing.
So what you need to do is go to captions and turn it to OFF.
