Enfield Striking Mantle Clock (pre 1949)?

I have just bought this fully renovated clock. Unfortunately, (according to the shop assistant) the customer before me had a "bit of a fiddle with it and pushed the hands round to make it chime" I've set my clock on the mantlepiece and have levelled it (with some 2p pieces under the front legs!) But the chimes aren't in sync with the hour (or half hour). How do I get it back? It's nine o'clock, and chiming four at time of writing!

No, its not the hands, its the actual mechanism insides.

There are two levers that sit on brass wheels of one cog. As the linkage turns ut falls into a slot and stops the chime. The other operates the other butterfly part.

Each are fixed by a screw, but were bith loose, so need to line them up correctly. Quite hard to explain in text.

Cannot find any info that shows this exploded view or actual point it should be at.

Smiths Enfield 3 winding movement problem. Westminster chime.
Keeps chiming, unless turned of, is it linkage loose or worn ?

How do I set the two levers that operate the time chime and one next to it ? Both have screws to adjust were they sit on shaft.
Any help appreciated.

That's right, the mechanism is probably right but the hands are pointing in the wrong direction, move the pointers.

The hands are usually a push fit onto their shafts - they can be set to point anywhere - just carefully move the hand around the clock face to point at the place (number) you want.

It seems from what you say that the clock mechanism thinks it's four o'clock so the hands should be advanced to be in sync with the mechanism - then the whole clock should be adjusted to the correct time.

First the hands to sync with the clock then the clock to sync with the actual time.

Good luck...
