Miele Premier Plus Novotronic W504 Rinse light flashing?

The machine will wash with no load but with even a light load the rinse light flashes on as soon as the drum starts to turn. I managed to do a full heat wash with soda this morning. After cleaning all the filters and drainage tubes, it now drains and rinse light flashes as soon as the drum turns.
I have had a problem for a while where towels have had to have an extra rinse because they are still soapy even with little detergent added.
The only filter I can see is on the bottom left, is there another filter?

if the brushes are good and making contact no point replacing them as they are expensive. as i said the rinse light flashing indicates a motor circuit fault if not the brushes could be a fault in the tacho coil of the motor or the triac on the pcb powering the motor, or an incorrect resistance in the motor windings. You would need an engineer to check and diagnose.

Thank you for your advice. I will change the brushes but I took them out cleaned them and put them back as they had good contact and we still had the same problem.

Rinse light flashing is a self diagnostic indicator, it means there is a problem with the motor circuit, usually the carbon brushes in the motor are worn out,
