how can i fix my Fisher and Paykel GW709au?

I turn power on and the front panel lights up as normal, able to select water temp, level etc.
But when I go to press start nothing happens
Is it time for this to be thrown out and start again ?

While you are selecting water level, temp. etc the light on the top row should be blinking. When you press start, there should be a beep and that light will stop blinking. Tell me if that happens or not. Then I can advise you further.
