How can i format my mp4 player?

I have a mp4 player with 512 MB memory, the problem is when i open drive of mp4 player on my computer tab,it doesn't work there is a message occur, "I need to format it", I haven't do it yet, the memory storage show only 0 MB, so what should i do? please reply me, thank you.

dear jack, i was also in search for a way to format my cheep chinese mp4 player which played .amv [video] and mp3 [audio] for me.but after formatting it started showing 233mb of memory instead of 1gb originally.iam still in search of a way to recover its lost memory.plz. beware of getting in to the problem like me and let me know if you have some knoledge to share at anil_bhanot992@yahoomail.com
