The correct term is "wheels".
A cog is a removable tooth, often wood, that is inserted into one of many holes on the periphery of a cast iron or wooden wheel, typically in a windmill. A "cogged wheel", often shortened to "cogwheel".
Often a triumph if engineering in their own right but a world away from the delicate brass brilliance of a fine clock component.
