Need to know the proper chain size for a Homelite/Textron XL chainsaw?

I have an older small XL Homelite chainsaw. The chain bar measures 12 1/2 inches, and the old chain measures 15 inches and has the number 37 on each of the teeth.
I did purchase a replacement chain at the local Home Depot. The package stated it's Y53 14 inch chain and fits the Homelite models. Upon opening the package and compairing it to the original chain it's too long. So what is the correct chain for this little monster? Thanks,
