How can I fix my Electric Mobility Scooter, which tends to lose drive?
My "Town & Country" "Booster" electric scooter sometimes fails to re-start after being stopped, and it then seems to free-wheel. However if someone pushes it while I hold the controls as if to drive forward, it will eventually start abruptly, then seem okay for a while. Any ideas what is probably causing this please? (I do know a handy mechanic who could follow up any clues!)
First check the speed pot, when it stops try pressing the throttle lever in the upwards direction as you push forward, if it responds then your scooter requires a new speed pot.
Check the brushes on the motor, make sure they can move inside, if they are jammed this will cause the problems you mentioned, check the battery connection are clean and tight.

it sounds like the brushs in the motor try removing them and cleaning them with a wire brush and contact spray there is a black pod under the motor remove and you should see the brushs
