Hello, I need to fix my grandmothers sewing machine. The manual is lost, and also desperately need a copy. The metal hook cover plate does not fit down flush into the machine, and the feed dogs do not appear raised in it. I have tried raising and dropping the feed dog lever in back, it works but still does not protrude to grasp any fabric. Any help sincerily appreciated. The only help I could find on the net was a threading diagram. Thank you
Hello Deborah,
You won't get the teeth above the throat plate unless it is snapped on properly, make sure it fits flush flat down, make sure that if you have a drop feed mechanism that it is in the raised position.
If you type in www.kenmoresewingmachines and then scroll down to relics you should be able to get an instruction book.
