whats wrong with my pc?

i have just installed a new game and when i try to play it the screen goes black and comes up with no siginal then goes onto standby but the tower is still on. what could be causing the siginal to fail but the tower stay on?

The monitor is not able to cope with the resolution of the game.
Find the file that you open, right click it, go to properites, compatibility and select a lower resolution.
Or if theres a settings program for the game, select a lower resolution in that.

I would suggest that your new game is conflicting with the video card / drivers, check that the game is compatible with your graphics card.
